I was in Irvine today with some other members from my theater company (SkyPilot), in order to read the original play 'Fursona Non Grata' by Jeff Goode. It was a great experience, and the play was very well received by the audience (which was pleasantly but unexpectedly huge). Hopefully the play will be part of SkyPilot's 2014 season, because it's not every day I get to play a goth vampire chick.
A short I was in, called 'Relative Eternity', is now available online at SnagFilms! It was already accepted to the Cannes Short Film Corner and LA Shorts Fest last year, and now finally got distribution. Filming it was an unforgettable experience thanks to director Blair Skinner and the rest of the cast and crew. Great job to everyone involved! Check it out here: http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/relative_eternity.
So the good news: this week I booked a commercial for Fanta and got really excited about it. It was a fun audition and I was surprised to get the call for the booking so soon. Bad news: The shoot date was moved to a date I unfortunately cannot commit to because I have a conflict, so I won't be able to shoot the commercial. It's good to know they liked me enough and thought I was good enough to hire me on the one hand, on the other hand, it would have been great to actually get to shoot the commercial. Oh well, here's hoping another booking comes by soon!
After taking Lesly Kahn's Triage, she placed me in her personal comedy intensive class, so starting tomorrow for the next three weeks, my life will pretty much revolve around learning sitcom. Intense, but exciting.
Heading off to Paul Smith photography to update my headshots, then straight off to Coachella for three days of amazing music and blazing heat. It's going to be a good weekend.
I've just finished up my first improvisation class at UCB, and my hilarious classmates and I are having our graduation show tomorrow, Saturday the 13th, at the UCB theater at 4 PM. Can't wait to finally test out those improv skills in front of an audience!
Today I was with my fellow SkyPilot Theater Company members doing a play reading for the original play 'Negotiations', in North Hollywood. Great writing by Eric Johnson, looking forward to its development on stage.
I booked the music video for the song 'Bulls in the Bronx', which already has 1.5 million views on YouTube! I got to work with 'Pierce the Veil', a very cool, talented group of guys fresh off an international tour for their new album. It will be released on May 7th, if you would like to watch me act out a short sweet love story, and of course, perform a flamenco solo. Keep an eye out!
My theater company, SkyPilot, is holding a fundraiser for Valentine's Day in which we will be performing sketches tonight at the River Rock Lounge in North Hollywood. I am cast in two separate sketches, in one as a crazy bitchy ex-girlfriend, and in the other as a crazy and socially awkward granddaughter. Crazy in both though, that's the common trait.
After a showcase I did in December, I got called in by Stein Entertainment Group. After an audition and a callback, I got an offer of management and just signed with them today! Really excited to start a new partnership with Stein, as I've heard great things about them from fellow actors they represent. 2013 is looking good so far.
